Night Fest this Saturday at the Lighthouse
Continuing the long partnership between the St Augustine Lighthouse and Museum and the Junior Service League of St Augustine, the Lighthouse has invited Historic City News readers to celebrate on Saturday, March 7th at the annual “Night Fest” sponsored by Herbie Wiles Insurance, Harbor Community Bank, and MINT Magazine.

A training workshop will be presented by Taxpayers United of America this Saturday, March 7th, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and Historic City News readers interested in educating themselves on the perils of government pensions, and what they can do on the local level to fight against them, are invited to attend the statewide event.

County inspector enters plea on extortion charges
Historic City News has learned that a former construction inspector, employed by St Johns County, pled guilty in federal court yesterday to extortion of local businesses who were the subject of his inspections — he now faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
