Historic City News has learned that St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church in Lincolnville has found funds in the form of a grant from the Kresge Foundation of Troy, Michigan, to open a Cyprian Center for Expressive Arts in the church’s Mission House.

Historic City News observes a fitting end to all the birthday celebrating this Labor Day Weekend with the finale of the 19th season of Concerts in the Plaza on Labor Day Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

As a Floridian, Canada offers freedom from the heat of summer during this time of year, and was the ideal location to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. Karen Pan reported to Historic City News that for the second weekend in a row, St. Johns County beaches will have high tides, extreme surfs and strong rip currents, this time due to Tropical Storm Danny in the Atlantic.

Raymond Joseph, the Haitian Ambassador to the United States, will visit St. Augustine to increase awareness of General Jorge Biassou, a Spanish officer who lived in the city from 1796 until his death in 1801.
