Barbara Golden, Communications Manager for the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau, reported to Historic City News that St. Augustine will be visited by one of Italy’s most popular television shows this weekend.

Sallie O’Hara, Administrator of the Friends of A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway, reported to Historic City News that she was recently a guest speaker at the National Scenic Byways Conference in Denver.

Karen Pan reported to Historic City News that for the second weekend in a row, St. Johns County beaches will have high tides, extreme surfs and strong rip currents, this time due to Tropical Storm Danny in the Atlantic.

Raymond Joseph, the Haitian Ambassador to the United States, will visit St. Augustine to increase awareness of General Jorge Biassou, a Spanish officer who lived in the city from 1796 until his death in 1801.

Library Director Debra Rhodes Gibson reported to Historic City News that the St. Johns County Public Library System is celebrating September as National Library Card Sign-up Month to ensure all residents of St. Johns County have the smartest card of all – a library card.
