St. Johns River Community College reported to Historic City News that Gary Killam has assumed his new role as director of criminal justice training at the St. Augustine campus of the college.

The Florida Elections Commission reported at the conclusion of their session yesterday that they found no probable cause in the complaints filed by Edward A. Slavin, Jr. against former County Commissioners Karen Stern and Bruce Maguire.

Historic City News has learned that St. Augustine’s Government House Museum of History and Archaeology will be open at no charge for guests Friday, September 4th.

Jeremy Robshaw SJCFR Public Information Officer reported to Historic City News that at approximately 3:40 a.m. this morning, St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 32 Seascape Circle.

One of the city’s “hidden” treasures stands right in the heart of Lincolnville. The Excelsior Cultural Center serves many purposes in the community.

NPS Gullah Geechee Coordinator Michael Allen wrote to Historic City News on behalf of Chairmen Emory Campbell and the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Commission to thank everyone who attended one of the 21 public meetings for their participation and cooperation in the development of the commission’s management plan.
