Proposed Second Amendment Preservation Act
Chairman Lance Thate reported to Historic City News that Janet Smith will be the guest speaker for next week’s regular meeting of the Saint Augustine Tea Party where the topic for the evening will be the proposed “Second Amendment Preservation Act”.


A panel of three judges, chosen by contest sponsor Computer Doctors of St Augustine, has made their selections in our Historic City News in Photos contest; naming a first, second, and, third place winner — as well as an additional honorable mention award.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters Association of Florida Marketing and Communications Specialist, Genna Lunsford, informed Historic City News that the State of Florida has approved a specialty license plate to help fund its mentoring programs for children throughout the state.
Historic City News was contacted by the St Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation to invite our readers to attend its inaugural “St Augustine Maritime Heritage Festival” on Saturday and Sunday, October 26th and 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Proceeds from this event will fund maritime educational programs and the completion of the Chalupa being built at the Fountain of Youth that will be launched as part of St Augustine’s 450 Commemoration in 2015.
