St. Augustine and The Fraternal Orders
The 2nd Annual Administrator Town Hall meetings continue with the Civic Roundtable Meeting being held Monday morning and we encourage all Historic City News readers to attend.
Local St. Johns County reporters learned that a quarter mile of Porpoise Point in Vilano Beach will be temporarily closed to vehicles, effective immediately, due to the nesting of two protected species of shorebirds, according to an announcement received by Historic City News.
Historic City News reporters have learned that during a staff presentation relevant to the Amtrak-FEC rail project, members of the City Commission will be briefed on the status of the proposed passenger train station the City hoped would be built at Carrera Street and Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
Thespian play writer and local St. Augustine actor James Bullock told Historic City News reporters that he will be presenting a monologue on General George Biassou as part of an upcoming event recognizing Biassou, Toussaint Louverture and King Henry Christophe.
Historic City News has learned that the 3rd annual National Marina Day celebration will be this Saturday, June 12, 2009 from 10am-2pm at Camachee Cove marina.
Historic City News was saddened to learn of the death of 76 year-old John Randolph Fraser; who passed away June 8, 2010, at his home in St. Augustine Beach.
