Candidates still working as week of early voting approaches
We are down to the wire for this year’s Primary Election, with early voting opening on Saturday morning, August 20th. Candidates are still out working on their campaigns, placing signs, walking neighborhoods, holding meet-and-greet events, and making certain that voters know why they are the best choice for their intended office.

This week, local Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, a member of the board of directors of Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections, forwarded an open letter to Historic City News certifying the security of the state’s voting systems.

Historic City News reporters watched as a stream of nearly twenty citizens addressed the St Augustine City Commission and a packed Alcazar meeting room waited to hear the outcome of city manager John Regan’s plans to close two northbound entrances into the Nelmar Terrace neighborhood from SR-A1A; also known as May Street.

Historic City News was informed that during last night’s meeting a spokesman hired by City of St Augustine contractor, Littlejohn Engineering Associates, told members of the Mobility Advisory Task Force that available parking is not really the problem that residents have imagined it to be.
