Historic City News has learned that FBI National Academy graduate and 29-year veteran of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, David O’Brien, was appointed Chief Deputy this morning by Sheriff Donald W. Fleming.

Last night at about 7:00 pm, the investigation of a damaged mailbox quickly escalated to a multiple-felony arrest by sheriff’s deputies who were forced to fight an apparently intoxicated probationer who became belligerent and then combative before he was restrained and taken to jail.

At about 7:00 pm last night, Historic City News learned that 28 year-old Cary Taylor Anderson, who resides at 816 Turtle Lake Court in Ponte Vedra Beach, was arrested and booked on multiple drug-related charges.

The divorced husband and father of the two boys found dead with their mother on Thursday, 45 year-old Daniel Joel Rashley, had just been released from the St Johns County Jail; less than two weeks before his children were killed.

Justice for a retired schoolteacher continues, as a second person responsible for her death was found guilty as charged on all counts, of First Degree Murder, capital felony; Robbery; and Burglary with Battery.
