Traffic Homicide Investigator J.D. McGinnis reported to the St. Johns County local news desk that deputies from St Johns County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit responded to a single vehicle motorcycle collision Saturday evening.

30 year-old Omar Donte Long who resided at 312 Harvard Road, was arrested late in the afternoon on June 26, 2009 and booked into the County Jail following a two week investigation in connection with the death of his nearly two-year-old child on June 14th.

In the case of United States of America vs Thomas G. Manuel, the former St. Johns County Commission Chairman entered a guilty plea and today he received his sentence — 21 months in federal prison followed by 16 months of home detention.
