Historic City News learned that St Augustine Beach Police are investigating a possible child abduction attempt at the St. Johns County Pier Splash Park.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported to Historic City News that charges are under investigation in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred yesterday afternoon at about 2:36 p.m. involving a St Johns County deputy sheriff.

At around 11:00 p.m. last night, Historic City News was informed that a private aircraft had crashed in the area of Marineland on the St Johns – Flagler County border.

Next week the City of St. Augustine will be performing work to clean and install lining in the sanitary sewer main in sections of Davis Shores, according to an announcement received by Historic City News from the director of public affairs, Paul Williamson.

St Johns County Parks and Recreation personnel will soon be placing “Kids Don’t Float” signs at numerous local boat ramps, with loaner lifejackets provided by Sea Tow Services International, Inc.

St Johns County Deputy Sheriff Scott James O’Connell, the brother of homicide victim Michelle O’Connell, was arrested and charged with domestic violence battery yesterday, a first-degree misdemeanor.

St Augustine police reported to Historic City News the July 4th arrest of a man they say committed two armed robberies in downtown St Augustine during the past two days.

Thursday afternoon, Historic City News learned that a 38-year-old Ponte Vedra Beach man was arrested on a felony warrant charging him with committing a sexual crime against a child less than 12-years-old.
