Historic City News was informed by St Johns County Commissioner Rachael Bennett that she will not seek a second 4-year term for the District 5 seat. She has withdrawn her previous filing with the Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes.

Historic City News did not expect a final decision today on how the City of St Augustine will begin to comply with the rights of artists and the United States Constitution; however, an immediate injunction against the City of St Augustine has been ordered on eight specific provisions.

Absentee ballots are currently available for the upcoming March 15th Presidential Preference Primary Election. As a reminder, this election is open ONLY to registered Republican and Democratic Voters.

This week Representative Cyndi Stevenson will bring HB 387 – “Carl’s Law” to the floor of the Florida House of Representatives. It will be discussed tomorrow, Tuesday February 23, 2016, and up for a vote on Wednesday.
