Airport tower stays two more months
The US Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration announced to Historic City News today that it will delay the closure of the federal contract air traffic control tower at Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St Augustine for two more months as the agency attempts to resolve multiple legal challenges to the closure decisions.



After a day of hosting crowds that included members of some of St Augustine’s founding Minorcan families, Historic City News reporters and a troupe of authentic 16th century re-enactors, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve will undertake an ecological prescribed burn on the southern portion of the Guana Peninsula.
Public Information Officer Klare Ly announced to Historic City News that Randal Bryan Hart, the 28-year-old St Johns County man accused of stabbing his dog, Amber, and slashing her throat with a knife before dragging her into the woods to die, will be back in court Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives with the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Homicide Unit questioned 40-year-old Nathaniel David Juratovac of St Augustine early this morning following an alleged “road rage” incident that occurred last night on US-1 South. Based on evidence collected at the scene, witness testimony, and information obtained in that interview, Juratovac, who resides on Casuarina Circle, was arrested and charged with attempted murder at about 2:00 a.m.
Law enforcement officials tell Historic City News reporters that they believe a road rage incident turned to violence tonight as St Johns County sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate a shooting that occurred on US-1 South; between Watson Road and Southwood Road.
