Paul Williamson informed local Historic City News reporters today that the City of St Augustine will close Artillery Lane to through-traffic beginning Wednesday on a “trial basis”.

In accordance with Florida State Statute 775.21, this news release will serve as public notification that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has been given information that a person judged to be a sexual predator is now residing within St. Johns County.

Traffic Homicide investigator Mac McGinnis reported to Historic City News that a 30-year-old bicyclist was killed this morning as he traveled east on Nocatee Parkway; and collided with a 2008 Honda SUV at Crosswater Parkway.

The 21-year-old Palm Coast man who attempted to use a samurai sword to destroy a computer and compact disks containing thousands of images of child pornography when confronted by FBI agents, pled guilty today to a federal charge of receiving child pornography over the Internet.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. this evening, Historic City News was notified by Kevin Kelshaw that Traffic Homicide Investigators with the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred in the area of Woodlawn Road and Begonia Street.

Ken Lawson, Secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, alerted local Historic City News reporters that licensed real estate professionals, and others in St Johns County licensed by the Department, may be the target of an attempted identity theft scam.

The female store clerk at Sharps Liquor on Moody Boulevard in Palm Coast reported to police that, around 5:19 p.m. last night, two black men, both in their early 30s, drew a pistol on her and demanded money from the cash register — along with a $100 bottle of Hennessy.
