Incumbents get wake-up call
All of St Johns County’s five constitutional officers were re-elected for another four-year term, without opposition; however, here, and elsewhere around Florida, that was not necessarily the case as an “anti-incumbent” movement has some political consultants scratching their heads.



McClure: Thanks for your vote of confidence
In races for St Johns County commission seats, Historic City News backed, recommended and endorsed each of the three successful candidates for Board of County Commissioners, at least two of which bucked the incumbent or their intended successor.
Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes reported to Historic City News this morning that there will be no re-counts from yesterday’s Primary Election, calling all of the decisions published on her website reliable.

Several days after 51-year-old Gregory Scott Testa did not call-in or show up for work, public information officer Catherine Payne told Historic City News that his employer became suspicious and notified the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office that they had reasonable concern for his welfare.
St Johns County has 150,948 registered voters, but you would not know it by today’s Primary Election turnout, according to records reported to Historic City News by Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes.
