St Johns Golf Club hosts TaylorMade

First Landing inaugural commemoration
Davis Walker reported to the local Historic City News desk that The Company of Juan Ponce de León will present its inaugural commemoration of Ponce de León’s April 3rd, 1513 landing on the shores of what is now the continental United States.

Sheriff offers six week Citizens Academy
Flagler County Sheriff Donald W. Fleming told Historic City News reporters that his agency will be hosting a six-week long Citizen’s Academy program with classes beginning April 19th.
1861 secession of Florida – 150 years after
Flagler College has invited Historic City News readers when they welcome Woodrow Wilson Scholar Dwight Pitcaithley on March 24th, with a presentation entitled, “The Secession of Florida in 1861: Reflections After 150 Years.”
Office of Open Government re-established
Communications Director, Brian Burgess, reported to Historic City News that Governor Rick Scott is re-establishing the Office of Open Government in order to provide full and expeditious compliance with Florida’s open government and public records laws.
