Turnout good for first day of early voting

Not including provisional ballots, Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes informed local Historic City News reporters that St Johns County voters cast 962 ballots in the first day of early voting in the Republican Presidential Preference Election.

The Florida Highway Patrol informed St Johns County reporters with Historic City News that two Jacksonville men were killed and two female passengers were sent to area hospitals with injuries sustained earlier during a one-car collision this morning on State Road A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Deputy Troy Bickhart has been released to his family from Shands-Jacksonville Hospital after an attempt on his life at the hands of a 34 year-old St Augustine man who led law enforcement officers on a reckless, high-speed chase early this morning.
