Historic City News editor Michael Gold was at the county auditorium this morning when a new day dawned on local government in St Johns County; when Circuit Judge Michael Traynor administered the oath of office to one returning commissioner, two new voices who were added, and officers for the coming year were selected.

Judge Wendy W Berger, Fifth District Court of Appeal, will administer the oath of office to Mayor Joseph L. Boles, Jr and St Augustine Commissioner-elect Roxanne Horvath, during a re-organization meeting on Monday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alcazar Room of City Hall located at 75 King Street.

My heart hurts this morning for the loss of yet another cyclist, and to a hit and run again.

I can only imagine the horror of the witnesses as they saw this person’s life lost.
