Every year on this date we pause to honor our veterans — those men and women who carried our flag into unknown horrors, many never to return.
To every American veteran, Historic City News extends its sincere gratitude for your service.
We’d all do well to take a minute’s pause to reflect on the blessings we enjoy because of a courageous few.



Historic City News reporters have learned that when the St Augustine Tea Party convenes its regular meeting at the Village Inn on Tuesday, November 13, the topic for the evening’s presentation will be a guide to basic parliamentary procedure and Roberts Rules of Order.
Legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy took the stage at the St Augustine Amphitheatre last night with Grammy Award-winning Jonny Lang; and Historic City News photojournalist Mark Cubbedge was there to capture some of the evening’s highlights for our local readers.
St Johns County Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw reported to local Historic City News reporters that four men have been arrested in connection with several shootings that occurred last month in West Augustine.
Executive Director Cathy Brown won a unanimous show of support for the Council on Aging initiative to bring expanded care options for Alzheimer’s patients to St Johns County, when the county commission recently agreed to the establishment of a temporary Alzheimer’s Center in a vacant building located next to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
Historic City News readers who would like to participate on a local government advisory committee or volunteer board can take a more active role in county government by applying for one of a variety of current vacancies in St Johns County.
Historic City News will celebrate with friends, family members, and the public at large during a special day in county government; when three St Johns County commissioners will be sworn-in during a 9:00 a.m. ceremony, then participate in their first official meeting, and, at 2:00 p.m., return for a government ethics and transparency workshop.
