Historic City News reporters watched as about 414 graduating seniors from Flagler College participated in this morning’s commencement ceremony; receiving their diplomas at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Historic City News has learned that shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night, St Augustine Beach police and St Johns County traffic homicide detectives were called to the scene of Floridian Avenue at SR-A1A to investigate a single-vehicle-vs-pedestrian collision that left a local woman dead.

The St Johns County School Board is standing firm to NOT allow the graduating Seniors to say a prayer OR any type of inspirational message – period.
Historic City News reporters are often surprised at the types of expenditures and shenanigans that glide in and out of city and county commission meetings with full approval; and, completely under the radar through a portentous bit of parliamentary procedure known as the “consent agenda”.
A 27-year-old Neptune Beach man was arrested, and released, yesterday; accused by St Augustine Police of stopping his motorcycle on the Bridge of Lions and beating a passing pedestrian on Sunday, April 7, 2013.
Historic City News has learned that while riding his bicycle westward on West King Street this afternoon, 63-year-old Clifford Wayne Johnson, Sr., was struck and killed when he pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
