Planning and Zoning Board hears controversial requests
Historic City News reminds readers that the Planning and Zoning Board will consider two requests from the owners of the proposed Kenny’s Market Place Tuesday; one is to make alcohol sales at the former Hamblen Hardware.



Shortly after 10:00 a.m. this morning, a man wearing a dark gray camouflage jacket and red and white Nike running shoes, walked into Wendy’s at 1830 US-1 South and demanded money from the cashier at the counter, according to a report received by Historic City News in St Augustine.

St Johns County reported to Historic City News that Kevin Roberts has recently been recognized twice – first as “Case Manager of the Year” by the Florida Coalition of Children, and this week as St Johns County’s “Employee of the Year”.
Historic City News has learned that a former deputy sheriff in St Johns and Putnam counties, who now works at World Gym on US-1, has been arrested and charged with video voyeurism after detectives say he used a cell phone to photograph people without their knowledge.
After being found guilty on December 11 of all four-counts of lewd or lascivious sexual battery against a child, James Howard Scharfschwerdt will appear in court for sentencing on Tuesday February 5th — but this case is not over yet.
