Lighthouse team investigating shipwreck discovered in Volusia County

Historic City News was informed that a team from the Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program was working on December 5-6 at the scene of a shipwreck recently discovered in Daytona Beach Shores. The wreckage began appearing after Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, but it has been partially buried on and off due to the tides.

Supervisor reports the 2022 Election was a success

St Johns County Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes updated local Historic City News reporters on the outcome of the November 8, 2022, General Election now that all the dust has settled.  Oakes is calling the election in St Johns County “a success” with 64.8 percent of registered voters turning out to vote.
