Public Affairs Manager Marci A. Larson, reported to Historic City News this morning that the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization has elected St. Augustine Commissioner Nancy Sikes-Kline treasurer and Planning and Building Director Mark Knight vice-chairman of the Technical Coordinating Committee for 2012.
Harlan Mason, Chairman of the St Johns County Republican Party welcomed Historic City News and about 50 members, elected officials and guests of the Executive Committee to their annual Christmas celebration in St Augustine at the Airport Conference Center last night.
A convenience store clerk working at the Kangaroo in the 4500 block of US-1 North in St Augustine, reported to sheriff’s deputies yesterday that he confronted a 20 year-old St Johns County man after he was observed inside the clerk’s vehicle.
At the December 6th county commission meeting, interim Fire Rescue Chief Carl A. Shank was officially appointed Chief by County Administrator Michael D. Wanchick; who said that he was pleased to recognize Chief Shank’s commitment to the Department and County.
“I’m not home-less, I’m wall-less,” Leroy told St Augustine reporter Michael Gold this morning; as he took his one-hour turn at the designated panhandling spot in front of the St Johns County Public Library on West San Carlos Avenue.
Owner Henry M. Whetstone responded to yesterday’s decision by the City Planning and Zoning Board to “table” until their February meeting the application from Bayfront Inn, Inc., to construct a 270-foot dock into the Matanzas Bay, by saying he is prepared to take his request “as far as necessary”.
Public Information Officer Lt Jeremy Robshaw reported to Historic City News that St Johns County Fire Rescue personnel responded to a multi-family structure fire in the 700 block of Middle Branch Way at approximately 10:15 a.m. this morning.
