Local Freedom Rider appears on Oprah
David Nolan reported to Historic City News this morning that at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon on WJXT Channel 4 (Jacksonville) the Oprah Winfrey Show will include interviews with Hank Thomas of Saint Augustine and three other Freedom Riders.





St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar has announced that he and State Attorney R.J. Larizza are holding a press conference this afternoon to provide the media with details of a week-long undercover investigation that netted seventeen arrests.

Robbery Homicide detective Charles Brantley reported to Historic City News that three unknown suspects are being sought in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred early this morning.
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to the scene of a robbery at Whetstones Chocolates at 139 King Street last evening.
County spokesman Rob Weber informed Historic City News that the St. Johns County Pet Center will close at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 13th for staff in-service training.
