Historic City News reporters were notified that St. Johns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an E-911 call at 11:35 p.m. Thursday evening from a man who stated that he shot his wife and he was walking outside — to shoot himself.
The invitation begins, “University of Florida President Dr. J. Bernard Machen cordially invites you to a celebratory evening in Historic St. Augustine.”
Castillo de San Marcos Superintendent Gordie Wilson told Historic City News reporters and commissioners at their meeting this week, that, as early as this month, the City of St. Augustine could be selling tickets for admission to the fort.

Later this month many of our children will be taking part in the age-old custom of “trick or treating” on Halloween. Our goal at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is that this event is an enjoyable adventure for everyone and I would like to pass along some safety tips.
