First, I’d like to make a clarification for Historic City News readers who have been trying to follow the discussions on beach parking plans.  The proposed paid parking plan for the City of St Augustine will NOT apply to pier park and the east end of Pope Road. Those roadways are owned by St Johns County, and it’s not known when the county might begin to charge for parking in those areas.

I don’t find myself telling judges what to do very often; but, I am hoping that Judge Maltz, or Judge Tinlin, or any of the other judges before whom former St Augustine City Commissioner Errol D. Jones has appeared, will step up and close the revolving door at the St Johns County Detention Facility, then find this man an appropriate program where he can get the help he desperately needs.

Adamec headed to prison


Adamec A former 8th Judicial Circuit prosecuting attorney is headed to prison for nearly two years after his sentencing hearing Wednesday afternoon, January 9, 2018.  Christopher William Adamec was sentenced to 22-months in prison, an additional 10-years of probation, and restitution in excess of $100,000 to be returned to at least three of his private law clients.
