The City of St Augustine has reported to Historic City News that the regular City Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, October 10 has been cancelled. The next commission meeting will be on Monday, October 24th at 5:00 p.m.

Historic City News has received the latest update on storm assessment and recovery activities following Hurricane Matthew. At this time, urban search and rescue is complete in all areas. St Johns County Damage Assessment Teams continue their initial assessments of structures in impacted areas.

As of 8:00 p.m. Saturday night, Historic City News was informed that St Johns County Utility customers on Anastasia Island and the North Beaches, including Vilano Beach, South Ponte Vedra Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach, have their water and sewer services restored.
Curfew still in effect as some residents return home. Historic City News readers are reminded that St. Johns County is still under a local curfew from 8:00 pm – 6:00 am for affected areas.
