Re-live historic landing of Pedro Menendez September 8th
Historic City News readers know that it was four hundred and fifty years ago, on September 8, 1565, that General Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles stepped ashore at Matanzas Bay and founded St. Augustine, Florida; the oldest continuously occupied city, port, and parish of European origin in the continental United States.

Something special will be on the agenda when the Regular Meeting of the St. Augustine City Commission convenes on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Alcazar Room of City Hall.
