The drama for the evening at the St. Augustine Tea Party meeting on April 14, 2015, was Commissioner Jeb Smith’s defense of his vote to study a sales tax increase in St. Johns County, Florida.

Wednesday, April 22nd, is the official Earth Day. However, Historic City News readers in St Augustine will also want to participate Saturday, April 25th, when the city offers an environmentally safe way to get rid of some hard-to-get-rid-of items.
Two women who stole an unknown amount of merchandise from the Winn-Dixie Marketplace in the 3500 block of US-1 North are being sought on retail theft charges. However, Historic City News has learned that they will also be charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, who they attacked in the parking lot.
