Cash S. McVay has reported to Historic City News that their new organization, called “CitySprout”, is a non-profit, grassroots movement to generate ideas, organize people & action plans to implement food and gardening programs throughout the neighborhoods of St. Augustine.
Historic City News has learned that on Monday, November 17th, at 6:30 P.M. Slow Food First Coast will hold a meeting at First Coast Technical College in Building C.

Communications Director Jay Humphreys has announced to Historic City News that the St. Johns County Visitors and Convention Bureau has been accredited by the Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) – a Washington, D.C.-based association that sets international standards for the destination management industry.

Historic City News was notified by the Recreation and Parks Department that 2009 St. Johns County annual beach passes are now on sale at the pre-season price of $30 for St. Johns County residents and $40 for non-residents.

According to an announcement posted on the St. Augustine Government website, Historic City News is reminded that city staff is holding a public meeting today on whether the city should renew its 30-year franchise with Florida Power & Light.

Historic City News received an announcement from Jo McIntire informing us that People for Peace and Justice (PPJ), Veterans for Peace (VfP) and Grandparents For Peace (GfP) are once again co-sponsoring the annual Peace Scholarship; which has been renamed the Peg McIntire Peace Scholarship.

Historic City News has received confirmation that local businessman Randy Brunson has been cleared of all charges by action of the Florida Election Commission in an administrative hearing in Tallahassee today.
