Police make two arrests in lion vandalism
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department has made two arrests and closed their investigation into this week’s vandalism of the marble lion statutes at the west end of the Bridge of Lions.
Award for enforcing underage drinking laws
Coalition Coordinator Heidi Matheny announced to local Historic City News reporters that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office received an honorable mention, runner up award for the law enforcement agency of the year, at the 13th National Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Leadership Conference in Orlando.
Recently restored lions vandalized
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that, this morning, the St. Augustine Police Department was called to the west end of the Bridge of Lions where one of the 84 year-old lion statues was the victim of vandalism last night.
Meth related arrests triple in county
Kevin Kelshaw, Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Officer, reported to Historic City News this morning that so far this year, 17 meth labs have been discovered in raids by St. Johns County deputies — the most recent was last weekend.
