Sergeant Kenneth Mark Boatright Jr. of the Florida Highway Patrol informed local Historic City News reporters that for more than 4-hours this afternoon, troopers had traffic re-routed between SR-16/16A and SR-13/SR-16 while the road was closed to investigate a single-vehicle traffic homicide.

The St. Augustine Beach Police Department announced to local Historic City News reporters this week that a new safe zone has been established in their parking lot for the exchange of merchandise purchased or traded online.

Historic City News local reporters were informed this morning by Florida Highway Patrol District Commander, Captain Jerrell G. Crews, that a 44-year-old Putnam County driver crashed into a St Joseph Academy school bus; disabling both vehicles in the roadway on SR-207.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, Historic City News learned that deputies arrested 20-year-old Richard James Westerman at his residence located at 3276 Debra Court in the Summerhill neighborhood of St Johns County. Westerman was charged with the crime of video voyeurism.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office informed local media that they are investigating a robbery reported Saturday night at the Holiday Inn Express on SR-16 at I-95.

Historic City News is on alert this evening as a manhunt is underway in south St Johns and north Flagler County in the Matanzas Woods area of Palm Coast where a deputy came under fire while standing outside a residence where he was responding to a call for service.

This morning at about 1:21 a.m., Historic City News was informed that a single bicycle rider was thrown from the Mickler-O’Connell Bridge, and died at the scene.
