Homeland Security Investigations informed Historic City News today of the disruption of a major marijuana trafficking operation, connecting suppliers in California with a distribution network in Northeast Florida.  The operation in Jacksonville supplied St Johns County and others in the area.

Media relations officer Dee Brown reported to Historic City News this morning that the St Augustine Police Department is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred about 8:45pm last night.

A St Johns County Sheriff’s Office spokesman reported to Historic City News that a Walgreens employee was arrested Thursday after she stole more than 200 prescription pills from the pharmacy’s store located on CR-210 West.

A St. Augustine man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday, months after being convicted of attempted first-degree murder of a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Deputy, according to sheriff’s office records.  Brad Germain, 42, was convicted in November after the State Attorney’s Office said he attempted to murder a deputy with a homemade pipe gun.

A 30-year-old habitually impaired driver was arrested again Monday after deputies reported to Historic City News that she nearly collapsed when she was asked to step out of her car.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Brittany Kershaw reported to Historic City News that deputies, detectives, and crime scene investigators are on the scene conducting an investigation into the discovery of body at Yacht Harbor Marina in Palm Coast.

Historic City News learned that at about 3:00 a.m. this morning, a late model Toyota Venza crashed into a San Marco Avenue antique shop causing extensive damage.  No injuries were reported, according to televised news accounts.

Everything promised in the $3.5 million Florida Department of Transportation project to revamp the intersection at May Street and north San Marco Avenue has not been delivered — starting with a missed completion date, originally expected in late 2019.
