After careful consideration of the candidate’s qualifications for the office, the Historic City News Editorial Review Board has endorsed Ann Taylor for St Johns County Commission District 5. Volunteer members of our Editorial Review Board did not quickly come to a decision who, or if, to endorse in this race.  It was not a unanimous vote.  We did unanimously agree, after we worked through the steps, that there are longer range implications if we do not share the outcome of our analysis with our readers.

From a press release received by Historic City News this week, Kim Kendall, who is running for Northeast Florida’s House District 18 seat, publicized that she is proud to announce the endorsement of the Historic City News Editorial Review Board. Since launching her campaign, Kim has garnered support from a slate of prominent community, grassroots, and industry leaders and was most recently endorsed by the First Coast Manufacturers Association.

Historic City News has learned that former President Donald J Trump is fine after shots were fired at him during a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania through a spokesman for his campaign.  Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that “shots were fired” at Trump during Saturday’s rally. The information was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

After careful consideration of the candidate’s qualifications for the office, the Historic City News Editorial Review Board has endorsed Roy Alaimo for St Johns County Commission District 3.  Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Roy Alaimo to the County Commission on December 21, 2022.  Since that time, Historic City News has watched Alaimo’s career in politics, although Editorial Board chairman Michael Gold reports having known and worked with Commissioner Alaimo for more than 15-years.
