Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 19 attorneys

Leslie H. Smith, spokesperson for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 19 attorneys, disbarring three, suspending nine, reprimanding one and revoking the licenses of six.
Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band postponed

On Saturday, June 10, 2022, Historic City News was informed that musicians and entertainers Edgar Winter and Steve Lukather who perform with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band have each tested positive for the coronavirus, COVID-19, forcing the St Augustine Amphitheater to postpone the group’s June 24th appearance. The show is being rescheduled for September 2022.
Office of Congressional Ethics: Rutherford failed to file timely disclosure reports

Despite being required to do so by federal law and House rules, U.S. Representative for District 4, which includes St Johns County, John H Rutherford, is under investigation by the House Committee on Ethics over multiple late disclosures of stock transactions that were made in his retirement fund account. Historic City News learned Tuesday that the referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics said Rutherford would not sit down to answer questions and did not cooperate during their initial inquiry in February.

Memorial Day began in honor of the Civil War dead

Historic City News subscribers probably know the recent history and plight of the Ladies Memorial Association memorial to 46 local veterans of the American Civil War; whose lives and deaths were marginalized in August of 2020 by an appointed mayor, Tracy Upchurch, a since booted ex-commissioner, Leanna Freeman, and an impostor, Nancy Sikes-Kline, masquerading as the defender of historic preservation, who has jockeyed herself into a position where she is likely to be elected the city’s next mayor.
