On December 5, 2018 Kim Zaheer called 9-1-1 to report that her 85-year-old mother, Frances King, needed an ambulance and that she was not breathing. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies and paramedics to the scene; however, when they arrived at the residence, they reported to Historic City News that they discovered King, deceased.
Leslie H. Smith, spokesman for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined ten attorneys, disbarring one, revoking the licenses of one, suspending six and reprimanding two. One attorney was ordered to pay restitution. Attorneys suspended for periods of 91 days and longer must undergo a rigorous process to regain their law licenses including proving rehabilitation. Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.

Florida lawmakers are at it again this year. Your legislators want to make even more difficult to access important government information.
The Jacksonville District office of the US Army Corps of Engineers has asked Historic City News to notify subscribers in the Vilano Beach, North Beach and Surfside areas to collect all portable personal property like beach and patio furniture, volleyball nets, temporary fencing and similar seasonal amenities from the dunes so that the final stages of beach renourishment can conclude.
Longtime Florida Bar leader and West Palm Beach attorney Gary Lesser will be sworn in as president-elect at the Annual Florida Bar Convention on June 11, when current President-elect Michael Tanner, of Jacksonville, becomes president. Lesser will serve as president for the 2022-23 Bar year.
Historic City News was informed today that Assistant Chief of Police Anthony Cuthbert, who has been serving in the capacity of interim Chief, will not be promoted upon the retirement of Police Chief Barry Fox, on June 30, 2021.
