Pedestrian struck and killed at St Augustine Beach
Historic City News has learned that shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night, St Augustine Beach police and St Johns County traffic homicide detectives were called to the scene of Floridian Avenue at SR-A1A to investigate a single-vehicle-vs-pedestrian collision that left a local woman dead.

A 27-year-old Neptune Beach man was arrested, and released, yesterday; accused by St Augustine Police of stopping his motorcycle on the Bridge of Lions and beating a passing pedestrian on Sunday, April 7, 2013.
Historic City News has learned that while riding his bicycle westward on West King Street this afternoon, 63-year-old Clifford Wayne Johnson, Sr., was struck and killed when he pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The first meeting of the St Augustine City Commission is a workshop at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the municipal carpet golf facility, followed by the regular business meeting beginning at 5:00 p.m.
City officials have invited Historic City News readers to attend a brief ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 at 11:30 a.m., for the unveiling of a specially designed historical information marker at the St Augustine St Johns County Visitor Information Center.
