In a unanimous show of support to improve the quality of life for residents over the business interests of property owners looking to maximize the return on their real estate investments, the City of St Augustine passed three ordinances regulating short-term rentals last night.
Pursuant to Section 403.077, F.S., the Florida Department of Environmental Protection informed local Historic City News reporters that they have received the following Public Notice of Pollution for a reportable release that occurred within St Johns County.
Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

The Supreme Court of Florida handed Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Republican-led Florida Legislature a major victory last week by affirming that the language in last year’s Amendment 4 referendum requires felons to complete all financial obligations of their criminal sentences before they can register again to vote.
Governor DeSantis expressed some trepidation Wednesday about a Senate proposal that would create a public-records exemption for sensitive information about members of the House, Senate and Cabinet, their spouses and children.

Historic City News local reporters interviewed Harold Kenneth (H. K.) Edgerton who was holding what he called a Table of Brotherhood ceremony. Edgerton said, “I am here in the footsteps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to fulfill his dream on his birthday.”
Trooper Wilburn A. Kelly never thought for a moment when he left his home in St. Augustine on Saturday, March 23, 1974 that he would have seen his wife and daughter for the last time. Kelly had served with the Florida Highway Patrol for 22 years at that time.
