Cold weather shelter open in Bunnell
Carla Traister and Rabbi Merrill Shapiro informed Historic City News that the Flagler County Family Assistance Center will open their “cold weather” shelter at First United Methodist Church of Bunnell this Friday and Saturday night — and most likely Sunday night.






The City of St Augustine has announced their Christmas and New Year’s holiday schedule to Historic City News, including office closures and rescheduled solid waste collection.
Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of St Johns County spokesperson, Debi Redding, invited all Historic City News readers to attend tonight’s 14th Annual Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Service Dinner at the First United Methodist Church.
Amy Graham reported to Historic City News that St Johns County’s new representative in Congress, Ron DeSantis of Ponte Vedra Beach, has recently received his committee assignments for his first term in office; which officially begins when he is sworn into office on January 3, 2013.
Communications Manager Michael Ryan provided local Historic City News reporters with an executive summary of action items that came before the St Johns County commission at their regular business meeting yesterday, Tuesday December 18, 2012.
Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reported to Historic City News that, after three weeks of online voting, the design for the new Florida license plate with the solid green bars and the artistic orange, forming the ‘O” in the word Florida, has been chosen as “the most popular”.
Jay Bliss, Port and Waterway Commissioner, Seat 5, reported his executive summary of yesterday’s regular public meeting; noting that the official minutes of that meeting will eventually posted to the commission website
