The United States Army Corps of Engineers announced this week that Historic City News readers at St Augustine Beach, and near the three borrow sources at the St Augustine inlet, will be impacted by beach renourishment beginning February 6th, and continuing through June or early July 2012.
Dr William T Abare, Jr, announced to Historic City News that Flagler College is trying to raise $1 million by June 1st in order to qualify for a one-to-one match, $1 million endowment to be awarded from the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust.
Letter: Poor comparison of 2004 bill to HB 1039

Dear Editor:
Former Rep. Doug Wiles and I differ as to the provisions of House Bill 1059, which he sponsored in 2004. It is reported that he intended that the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind be treated as a school district or a state university.
About ten residents, who live in the North City neighborhoods surrounding the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, chartered a 15-passenger van and made the 204 mile drive to Tallahassee to object to approval of House Bill 1039; they were greeted with an opportunity to address a legislative committee — for 30 seconds.

The topic for this column was suggested by a reader. They are concerned about aggressive, unleashed dogs that are allowed to roam in their neighborhood.
