City sets workshops on use of public areas
St Augustine City Attorney Ronald W Brown informed Historic City News this afternoon that, at their regular meeting held last night, the City Commission responded to public inquiries and those from commissioners by scheduling two workshops to discuss the general uses of public areas in the City.






St Augustine City Clerk, Alison Ratkovic, asked Historic City News to make the following two announcements to our readers.
Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and Fort Matanzas National Monument in St Augustine, along with the 395 other national parks across the country, will offer “free admission” from January 14 through 16 to commemorate Dr Martin Luther King, Jr Day.
West Augustine activist Greg White was first to speak during last night’s city commission meeting in a line of others who would follow to express thanks and support for continuing the sewer expansion project to serve county residents who live outside the city limits.
Thursday, January 12, Deputy Marshal Ronald Alfred Parker will be remembered during an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at Ron Parker Park; located at the corner of Pope Road and Old Beach road in St Augustine Beach.
Mike Davis, President of A D Davis Construction in St Augustine, reports to Historic City News that, after three years as a volunteer community initiative of United Way of St Johns County, Home Again St Johns has incorporated as a standalone non-profit organization.
