Historic City News welcomes lions home
With the return of the two marble lion statues from which the city’s 84 year-old Bridge of Lions derives its name, Historic City News readers welcomed home two of its most famous icons in the predawn hours this morning.






The message heard by Historic City News reporters and scores of people driving by and walking in the Plaza yesterday was that good schools matter to everyone.
Historic City News has received word that yesterday afternoon; two Georgia men were taken into custody and charged with attempting to pass counterfeit currency.
In a workshop that heard more from the podium than the dais, Historic City News reporters listened for over an hour as citizens spoke their mind about the ongoing plans to reconnect the Castillo and bayfront.
Flagler College notified Historic City News that award-winning author, memoirist and screenwriter Connie May Fowler is returning as part of the college’s Writers in Residence Program.

Chairman Anthony Bosco convened this morning’s meeting of the St. Johns County Civic Association Roundtable at the Conference Center at Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St. Augustine and Historic City News reporters were on hand.
The St. Augustine Fire Department reported to Historic City News that, beginning tomorrow, March 14th, they will be flow testing fire hydrants in the area north of Castillo Drive and south of San Carlos Avenue between US-1 and San Marco Avenue.
