Commissioners decided that 10:30 p.m. was not a good time to refashion an ordinance banning vending in the Plaza.

Historic City News has learned that increases in property taxes, fire assessment fees and utility taxes are “on the table” as the city tries to cover an estimated $1.4 million budget deficit for next year according to figures in The St. Augustine Report.

Restoration of the North City Waterworks Building to its original 1883 style as the city’s first train depot was endorsed by the City Commission last night following a report by Architect Dave Mancino.

St. Augustine City Commission voted 4-0 last night to deny a proposed reprise of the turn of the 20th century “Bishop’s Building” at St. George Street and Cathedral Place and later voted 4-1 to overturn a 2003 resolution that allowed the building plan.
