St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky C. Oakes, reported to Historic City News, that candidate qualifying just ended at noon for the regularly scheduled Town of Hastings General Election set for November 7th.
Historic City News was contacted this morning by Patrick McGee, the owner of McGee and Sons, a local lawn care and home services contractor. Although McGee says he has work in the city, he can’t afford to help those customers because, when he brings his equipment to their residences, he faces parking tickets with fines greater than what he charges for the service.

The Putnam County sheriff’s detectives in charge of investigating my stepson’s homicide decided, for whatever reason, not to complete their investigation and crafted a false report to close the case in November 2015.
The St. Augustine Public Works Department has notified Historic City News’ residents and businesses in the Fullerwood neighborhood of an overnight water outage scheduled for Tuesday, June 20 from 10:00 p.m. to approximately 6:00 a.m., on June 21st.
Michael Ryan, Director of Communications for St Johns County, has informed local Historic City News reporters that the Butler Beach boat ramp will have limited access from June 21 through October 8, 2017.
Historic City News was informed that, at about 10:18 p.m. last night, a single-vehicle crash on I-95, near southbound mile marker 331, the cause of which is still under investigation, took the life of the driver after the car traveled off the roadway.
