Vietnam Veterans honored during ceremony this afternoon
Master Sergeant Thomas E Kielbasa reported to Historic City News that this afternoon at 3:00 p.m., officers and veterans of the Vietnam War will be honored by the Florida National Guard during a command retreat ceremony at the St Francis Barracks parade field.
Leadership St Johns begins new class today
Today, at the Marywood Retreat and Conference Center, Historic City News was informed that the twenty-two participant 2015 class of “Leadership St. Johns” began an 8-month program designed to help them learn about St. Johns County through participation.
Saturday evening show to benefit Vickers Park preservation

Second Annual Light Up the Night! competition
For the second year, Historic City News has learned that Old Town Trolley Tours, Mint Magazine, and WSOS Radio, will jointly sponsor the “Light Up the Night Competition” in an effort to encourage even more participation from local businesses in lighting up the St. Augustine night, and to keep those lights on longer.
Report questions 7-Eleven threat to Water Works building
In the current issue of The St Augustine Report, former mayor George Gardner has questioned if the city’s plan to collect a $350,000 state grant to restore, to a condition of usability, the former San Marco Avenue Water Works building will hit a snag when the required “Assessment of Effect” document is prepared.
