Smith, spokesman for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 15 attorneys, disbarring five, revoking the licenses of two, suspending six, and reprimanding three. Two attorneys were ordered to pay restitution.

Florida Supreme Court disciplines 10 attorneys

Leslie H. Smith, spokesman for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined ten attorneys, disbarring one, revoking the licenses of one, suspending six and reprimanding two. One attorney was ordered to pay restitution.  Attorneys suspended for periods of 91 days and longer must undergo a rigorous process to regain their law licenses including proving rehabilitation. Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.

Florida Supreme Court disciplined 20 attorneys in recent court orders

The Florida Bar, the state’s guardian for the integrity of the legal profession, announced to Historic City News that the Florida Supreme Court disciplined 20 attorneys in recent court orders issued from November 21 to December 28, 2020, disbarring four, revoking the licenses of three, suspending 12 and reprimanding one. One attorney was placed on probation and two must pay restitution.

Florida’s Historic Coast is open for business

Historic City News was informed by Barbara Golden, spokesman for the Visitors and Convention Bureau that Florida’s Historic Coast is “open for business” and there are some really cool things happening in 2021. Golden asks that while participating in events, please be safe and follow CDC guidelines. Wear a face mask, wash your hands frequently and practice 6′ safe distancing.
