Ed Wuellner announced that the St Johns County Airport Authority has been selected to receive a $700,000 grant through the Small Community Air Service Development Program.
Leslie H. Smith, spokesman for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 15 attorneys, disbarring five, revoking the licenses of two, suspending six, and reprimanding three. Two attorneys were ordered to pay restitution.
The foresight of the St Johns County Board of County Commissioners who decided to continue tourism funding during the darker days of the COVID-19 pandemic, is paying dividends, according to Historic City News sources. Visitors & Convention Bureau President Richard Goldman says, “Money spent maintaining awareness has led to providing continued long-term hiring to meet local demand.”

Smith, spokesman for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined ten attorneys, disbarring one, revoking the licenses of one, suspending six and reprimanding two. One attorney was ordered to pay restitution. Attorneys suspended for periods of 91 days and longer must undergo a rigorous process to regain their law licenses including proving rehabilitation. Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.
Longtime Florida Bar leader and West Palm Beach attorney Gary Lesser will be sworn in as president-elect at the Annual Florida Bar Convention on June 11, when current President-elect Michael Tanner, of Jacksonville, becomes president. Lesser will serve as president for the 2022-23 Bar year.
After a couple of weeks to get the doors open and work the kinks out, Historic City News met with Culver’s owners Garth and Lisa Darton of St. Augustine at their new location open from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily at 3433 US-1 South. Monday January 18, 2021 was the official launch date for the St. Augustine “fast-casual” restaurant known for its Wisconsin-style Butter Burgers, cheese curds and frozen custard desserts.
The Florida Bar, the state’s guardian for the integrity of the legal profession, announced to Historic City News that the Florida Supreme Court disciplined 20 attorneys in recent court orders issued from November 21 to December 28, 2020, disbarring four, revoking the licenses of three, suspending 12 and reprimanding one. One attorney was placed on probation and two must pay restitution.
Historic City News was informed by Barbara Golden, spokesman for the Visitors and Convention Bureau that Florida’s Historic Coast is “open for business” and there are some really cool things happening in 2021.
