  • Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 13 attorneys


    Leslie H. Smith, spokesperson for the Department of Lawyer Regulation of The Florida Bar informed local Historic City News reporters that the Florida Supreme Court has recently disciplined 13 attorneys, disbarring one, suspending seven, reprimanding four and revoking the licenses of one. Three attorneys were placed on probation.

  • Airport welcomes the first passengers from Portland International Jetport


    Elite Airways LLC reported to Historic City News that the airline began scheduled operations between Northeast Florida Regional Airport (UST) and Portland International Jetport (PWM) in Portland, Maine, marking the expansion of commercial air service at the local airport.

  • Visit Florida on track to survive another legislative session


    Throughout the session, Historic City News has followed an ongoing issue critical to St Johns County regarding the continuation of Visit Florida.  The state’s tourism marketing agency, which was set to shut down next year, is still recovering from a scandal that occurred several years ago.

  • Beginning March 26 Elite Airways expands air service to Portland Maine


    Elite Airways LLC announced expanding air service at Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St Augustine with new nonstop service to Portland International Jetport (PMW) in Maine.  The new service starts March 26 and will operate on Saturdays traveling southbound and Sundays going northbound. Elite’s existing service between St Augustine and Newark will add a third day of flights from late March through mid-May then return to twice weekly throughout the summer.

  • City takes $5,000 free service for the award of $1,500 design contract


    The City of St. Augustine announced last week that they are seeking “public input on a logo design recommendation for Fish Island Preserve”.  The announcement invites interested persons “to submit design ideas, concepts, color suggestions, thematic recommendations, or design examples before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022”, indicating that there is still time to participate in this public process.
