Steve Moranda, a certified gun instructor, will be the special guest speaker Tuesday evening October 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., when the Saint Augustine Tea Party attends a handgun safety presentation at the Ascot Shooting Range, 447 East Cracker Swamp Road, East Palatka, FL 32131.

Tanya Jackson advised local Historic City News reporters that active adults living near Hastings will find free fun programs offered by the St Johns County Parks and Recreation Department.  Activities are held at the W.E. Harris Community Center located at 400 East Harris Street in Hastings.

Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.

St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department boasts nearly 50 active and passive parks, 12 boat ramps, seven community centers, over 40 miles of scenic coastline, full-service fishing pier, and an 18-hole golf course.  The department is as diverse as the natural ecosystems that surround us.

Herbert Lucas Wiles, 92, of St Augustine, FL passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in Jacksonville, FL.
