Stevenson recognized by Florida sheriffs for her support
Florida House member Cyndi Stevenson was in St Augustine today to be honored with the Florida Sheriff’s Association Legislative Champion Award, according to an announcement received by Historic City News Friday.

Historic City News has learned that at 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, in a secret closed-door session, the city attorney, Isabelle Lopez, will request the advice of the City Commission regarding the pending litigation between the City of St Augustine and the constitutionally protected artists who they continue to harass.
Although it is up to the city manager to recommend and the city commission to decide, a city staff committee is seeking suggestions to consider for a name to give the former car wash site located on the southeast corner of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and King Street, now owned by the city and repurposed as a pocket park.

The contract for the Mobility Project with Littlejohn Engineering, signed for the City by John Regan, a licensed engineer, and assigned to Martha Graham, also an engineer, engages the Nashville based company, through their Orlando branch office, for a commitment to do work over a 1-to-4-month timeframe that is referred to as “Phase 1”.
The St Augustine Community is encouraged to participate in this week’s three day, three event kick-off of the city’s mobility initiative scheduled for Wednesday through Friday, June 8, 9 and 10.

Historic City News readers will vote on five amendments to Florida’s Constitution this election year and it’s not too soon to begin reading up on the proposed changes.
