Historic City News was informed that on last Wednesday, two new candidates filed initial papers for the District 1 (Northwest St Johns County) seat currently held by Rick Scott appointee, James K. (Jimmy) Johns.

After dropping the bomb when he named his controversial 15-member “Mobility Advisory Task Force” Monday night, St Augustine City Manager John Regan left town for a three-week vacation. According to sources, Public Works director Martha Graham and Xavier Pellicer will inherit the task of making Regan’s missteps right.


Historic City News spends a lot of time reporting that the City of St Augustine has announced some new study, or new survey, or hired a new consultant; but, a common complaint amongst readers seems to be that the information purchased ends up being shelved and the problem never gets addressed.
“No event will be scheduled on Francis Field during the months of March and April or from the third Saturday in November through January 31 of the following year except those events which were held during those months between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016.”
