Voting procedure for St Johns County Tuesday
Vicky Oakes, St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, reviewed with local Historic City News reporters the election and voting process that will be underway beginning and 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday November 4, 2014. As you mark your ballot, please consider your choices carefully, and please “vote smart”.

Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Atwater, (R) was touring St Augustine this morning and stopped to speak with Historic City News and Vice-Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline, who was waving her campaign sign at the west end of the Bridge of Lions as the last week of early voting comes to an end.

Two staff members for the city’s Public Works Department reported to Historic City News that two staff members were recently recognized for the department’s pioneering work in the treatment of waste water. Martha Graham, Director of Public Works, and Glabra Skipp, Environmental Compliance Analyst, were recipients of the Gascoigne Waste Water Treatment Plant Operational Improvement Medal.
Historic City News has obtained a copy of correspondence to the Executive Director in the Office of Construction and Facilities Management concerning the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic; requesting a formal response identifying a definite date the VA will be vacating the existing location, as well as the location of the interim clinic location for St Johns County veterans.
Historic City News became aware of recent financial questions circling around the relationship between the City of St Augustine and AC Entertainment, the concert promoter who produced the Mumford and Sons two-day Gentlemen of the Road stopover held September 13, and concluding September 14, 2013.
